Functional wellness in body, mind and spirit

Saneepa was founded in 2005 by Harshini Wikramanayake, a certified senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher, qualified Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner and experienced Wellness Business Consultant.

Yoga and Ayurveda (sister sciences) are holistic health management systems that consider the mind, body and spirit continuum and interconnectivity.

Saneepa is the Singhalese language word for wellness (or lack of illness and disease). In 1946, the World Health Organisation’s constitution defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. In keeping with this philosophy, Saneepa delivers functional wellness for mind, body and spirit.

Saneepa offers Iyengar Yoga classes, customised Ayurveda consultations and Wellness consultancy to corporate clients.

Ayurveda and Yoga can be delivered in 1:1 sessions, group classes, workshops, lectures and retreats both in person and online.

Saneepa is for the curious at heart, and open-minded individuals

Who are keen to invest in truly understanding themselves better - a deep dive into self-awareness in pursuit of a sustained experiential lifestyle that will generate lasting, holistic change.

YOGA

“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul, create the symphony of life”
- BKS Iyengar

AYURVEDA

“Strength, health, longevity and vital breath are dependent upon the power of digestion including metabolism. When supplied with fuel in the form of food and drinks, this power of digestion is sustained; it dwindles when deprived of it”
- Charaka Samhit

CONSULTING

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world”.

-Mahatma Gandhi

HARSHINI WIKRAMANAYAKE

Harshini’s experience of Iyengar Yoga inspired her to transform her life - ultimately leaving the corporate world to train to be an Iyengar Yoga Teacher as well as returning to university to study Ayurvedic Medicine.

The cornerstone of Saneepa is to achieve lasting functional wellness in body, mind and spirit - practical and sustainable change using Ayurveda diet, daily routine and herbs to make the body/mind continuum feel more whole and Yoga to strengthen and maintain flexibility in body and mind.
